Iridient Digital
About
Iridient Developer is a powerful RAW image conversion application designed and optimized specifically for Mac. Iridient Developer gives advanced photographers complete control over their digital photos, but still provides easy drag-and-drop batch conversion and access to basic settings for casual users.
Iridient development features:
High quality image processing with high bit depth (16 and 32 bpc) for RAW and non-RAW image formats
Originally developed as a RAW image processing tool, Iridient Developer now supports high-quality color editing, monochrome image conversion, sharpening and noise reduction on regular images! You can now process almost any normal image format (JPEG, TIFF, PNG and others), as well as a couple of high dynamic range (HDR) formats (OpenEXR and Radiance).
High-quality RAW (demosaicing) image processing algorithms unique to Iridient Developer provide superior detail with minimal demosaicing artifacts. Iridient Developer is often known for its exceptional rendering of micro-details while maintaining a pleasing, natural, "cinematic" output with minimal digital artifacts and smooth color gradations. All image processing operations are performed at 16 bits per channel or higher. Most RAW image formats support 3 different RAW processing options (demosaicing), including a high detail method (usually the default), as well as a smoother "Soft Look" option with less artifacts, and finally support for RAW conversion based on Apple's Mac OS X RAW image libraries. .
Advanced sharpening and noise reduction algorithms
Iridient Developer offers six advanced sharpening methods, including “Iridient Reveal,” a “super” sharpener that uses aspects of both modern sharpening and deconvolution methods, traditional unsharp masking, a high-pass filter, difference of Gaussians, a unique “hybrid” sharpening algorithm, and an advanced method based on Richardson-Lucy deconvolution. All are processed in a custom 32-bit floating point color space to avoid color artifacts and deliver stunning detail. Powerful hot/dead pixel filters and new advanced noise reduction techniques help eliminate noise, especially in images shot at long exposures or high ISOs.
All sharpening methods also now support advanced edge masking to limit the sharpening effect to edge areas only, leaving "flat" or low-contrast areas of the image unaffected.
High quality image resizing
Whether downsizing an image for the web or creating massive prints for gallery display, Iridient Developer offers a wide range of resizing techniques that let you fine-tune the output level to suit your preferences with incredibly high levels of sharpness and detail. for smooth output without artifacts.
Incredibly flexible camera color specificationIridient Developer includes support for virtually every camera color specification imaginable, from industry standard ICC color profiles to DNG color matrix values and the latest DNG v1.4 Camera Profile (DCP) specification to camera manufacturer-specific color metadata. Iridient Developer gives you unrivaled control over creating the perfect color starting point for your photos, whether you want to use custom camera profiling solutions or simply match color provided by the camera manufacturer or virtually any other RAW processing software.
Wide range of image settings
You have complete control over every step of the conversion process, fully editable tone curves in RAW, RGB and LAB color spaces, advanced highlight recovery, white balance, noise reduction, sharpening, exposure compensation, brightness, contrast, saturation and more.
Ultra monochrome (black and white) conversion options
High-quality black-and-white conversion options including direct access to RAW image color planes, standard RGB channel mixers, luminance-based perceptual LAB conversion, brightness, desaturation, intensity, custom duets, and other toning options including curves.
Fast, high-quality image previews
RAW Developer allows you to view and make all adjustments to your image while viewing it in full resolution, with full color management and 16-bit-per-channel preview.
Advanced histogram view
Supports 256, 512 or very wide 1024 levels of detail. Viewing modes include RGB, individual R, G, B channels, all three colors at once, CIE Lightness, CIE Luminance, CIE Chroma (ab), brightness, hue and saturation.
Fully customizable color management
Support for two high-quality color engine options including Apple ColorSync and LittleCMS 2.13.1, which includes full support for the latest ICC v4.3 standard.
Ability to specify camera or image input profiles, RGB workspace profiles for image adjustments, and final image output profiles. Automatic support for LAB color space and chrominance curves without any manual color space changes.
Unlimited batch processing
You can continue adjusting images while other images are converted in the background. Supports easy drag-and-drop image conversion with flexible file naming options and support for multiple file formats including JPEG, TIFF, PNG, JPEG2000 and more.
Multi-threaded and vector processor (SSE3+), optimized
for Iridient Developer, takes full advantage of multi-core and multi-processor systems, as well as the advanced vector processing capabilities of Intel processors. Highly optimized for all the latest and greatest Mac OS X technologies, including Grand Central Dispatch (GCD), 64-bit processing, Core Image, Quartz Extreme and more. All image processing is performed by secondary threads, so your real-time editing work is never blocked waiting for export processing to complete.
IPTC, XMP and EXIF v2.3 metadata support Metadata
EXIF, IPTC and XMP are supported when exporting to TIFF, PNG or JPEG image formats.
Output mode "Processing disabled"
Ability to bypass all image adjustments and all color matching operations to quickly export high-quality linear files for further processing by other imaging programs or RAW workflows. Also useful for creating output without color matching for use when creating custom camera profiles or scenes using ICC camera profiling software.
