About
SyncTime is the easiest solution to sync your files. Have you ever wished that you could easily update all your backups spread across many devices? SyncTime will simply do it.
SyncTime can do a lot, but it's also very easy to use. From manual, scheduled, or fully automatic sync to background sync, bi-directional sync, and sophisticated exclusion filters, you can customize your sync exactly the way you imagine.
You can create as many sync items as you need and configure each one individually. A sync item basically consists of two folders: a source and a target. You can choose any two folders available in the Finder: they can be located on your Mac, on an external drive such as a USB drive, or even on a remote server.
Among the possible options you will find
• Four overwrite policies: leave files already existing in the destination alone, overwrite only if the source file is newer than the destination file, overwrite if the source file has a different timestamp, or overwrite always
• Three types of sync: one-way sync (default), two-way sync (merging source and destination), and one-way move (deleting source files after successful transfer to destination). Read carefully about these types of synchronization in the Help section of the SyncTime website.
• Delete files that are no longer in the source.
• Background Sync: Changes are tracked in real time so your destination is always up to date.
• Start automatic sync whenever the source and destination become available, or sync once per day, week or month
• Each sync item can depend on other sync items: it activates dependencies and runs automatically when they are all completed
• Files to be overwritten or deleted can be moved to the Recycle Bin or to a custom backup directory
• Exclude hidden files, files with names containing certain words or matching a regular expression, and selected files. Or exclude the root directory and specify only some include files.
Other features:
• Changes should be confirmed by default and you can check the files to be added, overwritten and deleted and view them in QuickLook
• Cancel the current synchronization at any time and restart it later
• Synchronization is performed in parallel
• Automatic startup on login can be enabled from the status bar menu.
• Your Mac can be automatically put to sleep or shut down after all synchronizations are complete (requires appropriate Applescripts installed in the Scripts directory. See website for detailed instructions).
