About

HistoryHound lets you perform quick keyword searches across all the content of all the web pages and RSS feeds you've recently visited, as well as all the ones you've bookmarked. This is "personal web search". Just enter a few keywords and HistoryHound will give you a list of pages you've recently viewed, ranked by relevance.

Have you ever tried to find something in your browser history or bookmarks, but couldn't remember when or where you saw it, or what browser you were using at the time? Or maybe you have your bookmarks meticulously organized, but it takes you forever to navigate through the menus to get to what you want? HistoryHound will search the page for you - quickly!

HistoryHound Search Box

Built on macOS' Spotlight search technology for fast searches, HistoryHound periodically scans your browser's cache, history, and bookmarks to keep your search index up to date. It also includes a built-in browser powered by WebKit, the same engine found in Safari, so search results are displayed quickly and accurately. A number of different options make HistoryHound easy and fast to use, and the fully functional demo runs for 30 days without restrictions.

HistoryHound is suitable for your work, offering you several options:

Choose your browser - or not. HistoryHound supports all major macOS web browsers, and if you use more than one browser, HistoryHound will search for pages you've visited in any of them. So use whatever you want - Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave, OmniWeb, Vivaldi, Opera, NetNewsWire or Orion - HistoryHound will track pages no matter where you saw them!

Choose from a full search box or a discreet search palette. HistoryHound Search PaletteIf you don't need fancy previews or sorting by name and relevance, use HistoryHound's search palette instead. You can use it like a regular window, set it to float on top of everything else, or have it hide when HistoryHound is in the background.

Assign a hotkey to quickly bring HistoryHound into action. It's almost as simple as shouting, "Come on, boy!" A quick press of command-option-spacebar (or any other key combination of your choice) brings HistoryHound to the foreground and selects the search field. You just type and it finds what you're looking for.

Search types:

Choose a search method convenient for you. Search by any or all search terms, use Boolean search, or use inclusion/exclusion notation to quickly find what you need.

Follow your tracks for as long as you want. You can tell HistoryHound to store as many days of web browsing history as you like. Even when your browser has long forgotten where you were, HistoryHound will remember.
