About

Leech is a lightweight yet powerful download manager for Mac OS X, developed by Many Tricks.

Leech gives you complete control over your downloads and offers seamless browser integration. You can queue, pause, and resume downloads; download from password-protected servers; and securely store your passwords in the system-wide Keychain.Plus, you’ll never have to worry again about downloads being interrupted due to a browser crash.

Leech’s main window is a model of minimalism. It features a couple of buttons to resume or pause a download, a search field, a list of active downloads, and a drop-down menu for selecting additional actions. This menu allows you to perform standard file operations (such as opening or deleting), as well as copy the original URL or the file path on your hard drive.

Download progress is displayed both within the list view and on the Dock icon, showing the completion percentage and the number of active downloads.

The utility integrates with Growl and Keychain; allows you to configure custom destination folders for specific hosts or file extensions using simple rules; and supports parallel downloads, resuming interrupted downloads (if the server permits), and dragging and dropping links onto the download list or the Dock icon.
