About
The app is designed to help you compare your Mac with other macOS devices and evaluate the performance and efficiency of different configurations.
Since we are talking about the performance of 64-bit systems, we took as a reference unit Apple's very first 64-bit computer - the legendary Power Mac G5, first introduced by Steve Jobs in June 2003.
The Power Mac G5 based on PowerPC processors turned out to be so powerful and energy efficient that already in the fall of 2003, a group of student enthusiasts introduced the System X supercomputer, which combined 1,100 such systems. This supercomputer became a real sensation and entered the TOP 3 of the world ranking.
Such a result would be impossible in our time: if we assembled a similar configuration from 1100 top 64-bit systems, the resulting supercomputer would not even be included in the TOP 100.
With our application, we invite you to find out how many legendary Power Mac G5s you have in your Mac computer. Plus, you'll be able to compare your Mac with the Intel-powered Mac Pro, as well as new Mac devices with Apple's own M1 chip.
