About
TrashMan is a new utility that will take the stress out of emptying your Mac's Trash.
You may be concerned that the Recycle Bin on a particular drive contains an item that you did not intend to delete. As a result, you allow the basket to continue to fill up, afraid of emptying it.
Instead, TrashMan provides a tool to empty the Trash on a per-drive basis, giving you peace of mind.
Have you ever wondered why your Mac only has one trash can even though you have multiple drives? TrashMan solves this conundrum by giving you control over the trash like never before. Instead of dealing with just one cluttered Trash, TrashMan lets you selectively empty your Mac's Trash by volume, keeping your drives organized and freeing up space where you need it most. Whether you manage multiple external drives, a partitioned internal drive, or a combination of storage solutions, TrashMan gives you the precision and control you've been missing.
Using TrashMan is simple and intuitive. Once opened, the app appears in your Mac's menu bar, giving you quick access to managing your Trash. The interface displays a list of all connected drives, the number of items and the amount of space occupied by the recycle bin on each of them.
To use TrashMan:
View drives: Each connected drive displays a list showing the number of deleted items and the total space they occupy.
Selectively empty the recycle bin: There is an “Empty” button next to each drive. Clicking it will empty the Trash for that specific drive only, allowing you to free up space without affecting other drives.
This selective approach helps you manage your storage more efficiently, ensuring that you only delete what you need, when you need it.
