About
Moneydance is a complete personal finance app that protects your privacy without skimping on features. It supports online banking and bill payment, investment management, budget tracking, scheduled transactions, check printing, detailed schedules and reports, and much more.
PRIVACY
Moneydance encrypts your data on your computer and uses strong end-to-end encryption for syncing. Moneydance has no advertising and we do not collect any analytics or other data.
SUMMARY SCREEN
The summary screen is an overview of your entire financial picture. Account balances, calendar of scheduled transactions and reminders, status of investment accounts, exchange rates and stock quotes - all at a glance.
ONLINE BANKING
Moneydance can download transactions and send payments through over 11,000 financial institutions. It learns to classify and clean up loaded transactions. Send online payments to banks that support them directly from scheduled transaction notifications. Please note that online banking services may incur additional fees depending on the bank and loading method used.
ACCOUNT REGISTERS
The account register is used to add, edit and delete account transactions. Balance calculation and transaction sorting are performed automatically. Auto-complete list of payees makes entering and categorizing transactions ridiculously easy, and the quick search field helps you find needles in a haystack.
INVESTMENTS
Keep track of your investments and get your portfolio in order with support for stocks, bonds, CDs, mutual funds and more. View the total value of your investment accounts or the performance of individual stocks and mutual funds over a period of time. Splitting shares and calculating asset values won't take much time, and current prices will be displayed automatically.
REMINDERS
Easily schedule future or recurring transactions so you never miss a payment.
CHARTS/REPORTS
Create visual reports of your income, expenses, budgets and investments. Flexible options let you customize reports by period, tag, category, account, and more. Hover over graph areas or double-click report cells to see details. Easily save graphs and reports as images or html files, and remember their settings for quick access.
BUDGETS
Set spending and income targets by category for a month, a week, or any other interval. View your budget status directly from your dashboard, summary screen, or graphs and reports. Use the well-known "envelope method" to determine expenses for each period, and your status will be displayed highlighting items that are over budget.
SYNCHRONIZATION
Enable synchronization via iCloud Drive or Dropbox to share data from computers or mobile devices of any platform. Keep your data up-to-date with partners or accountants over end-to-end encrypted channels for maximum security.
ENTERING TRANSACTIONS IN NATURAL LANGUAGE
Enter a transaction description in the search field to have Moneydance expertly fill in the details. For example, typing "1.23 sta" will suggest a Starbucks transaction with the category "Coffee" and the last account you used at Starbucks.
ATTACHMENTS
Attach images, PDFs, and other files to transactions by dragging and dropping them into the ledger. Attachments are stored fully encrypted, but if you click on their icon, they will be decrypted and opened by the corresponding application.
MOBILE
Use the (free) Moneydance mobile app on the go to record or edit transactions and view your balance. Changes sync instantly and securely with end-to-end encryption across all your devices.
