About

COMSOL Multiphysics (Femlab) is a simulation package that solves systems of nonlinear partial differential equations using finite element methods in one, two, and three dimensions. It allows you to solve problems in the field of electromagnetism, elasticity theory, dynamics of liquids and gases, and chemical gas dynamics.

COMSOL Multiphysics also makes it possible to solve the problem both in a mathematical formulation (in the form of a system of equations) and in a physical one (choosing a physical model, for example, a model of the diffusion process).

Of course, in any case, a system of equations will be solved, and the difference lies only in the ability to use physical systems of units and physical terminology. In the so-called physical mode of operation, it is also possible to use predefined equations for most phenomena found in science and technology, such as heat and electricity transfer, elasticity theory, diffusion, wave propagation, and fluid flow.

To provide greater integration of COMSOL Multiphysics with third-party design systems, support for Parasolid files has been implemented and a new interface has been added for two-way interaction with the Autodesk Inventor product.

With this interface, any changes you make while working in COMSOL or Autodesk Inventor will be automatically accepted in both applications.

Professionals are offered advanced tools for post-processing, visualizing models and sharing analysis results. A set of additional modules (AC/DC Module, Chemical Engineering Module, Earth Science Module, Heat Transfer Module, etc.) provides an accelerated solution to specific problems.

The advantage of the program is its versatility and applicability in a wide variety of industries and science. At the same time, to further simplify work in applied areas, specialized modules are included with the program:

Electrodynamics;

Mechanics and acoustics;

Library of materials;

Hydrodynamics and heat transfer;

Chemistry.
