About

NAMO is a program that helps you run a local DNS server on your Mac. You don't have to be a networking professional: the simple user interface allows anyone to install and configure a name server on Mac OS within minutes.

For MAMP PRO users, the NAMO app automatically allows any virtual host. For users of our free version of MAMP, NAMO is ideal for streamlining your local testing workflow.

Easily test your websites on your local network

With NAMO you can easily test your web developments on various devices on your local network. Since NAMO is a local name server, you no longer need to enter IP addresses. Instead, you can access your projects under "real" domain names, for example, "MyWebProject.com" instead of hard-to-remember IP addresses like "192.168.178.14". This is an ideal solution for quick access from mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Thanks to NAMO's automatic IP address update feature, projects are available under a domain name even if the IP address of your computer changes. This often happens if your computer obtains its IP address dynamically (via DHCP) from the router.

Ensure the convenience of working with web applications on your local network

Providing company-wide access to an encyclopedia wiki, CRM, image database, and bug tracking system not via the Internet, but on a local network has great advantages.

This not only improves security, but also reduces access time. Even if your ISP goes down, all data will be available locally, and NAMO ensures that your applications will be accessible via simple domain names.
