Kontakt is the industry standard in the world of samplers.Native Instruments Kontakt 6 provides a suite of high-quality filters, ranging from classic analog circuits and state-variable models to modern formant filters.Several of the 37 new filters utilize a new "Adaptive Resonance" concept, which automatically manages filter characteristics to prevent unpleasant sonic artifacts caused by excessive resonance peaks.The fifth version of the sampler also introduces "TimeMachine Pro" time-stretching, which delivers superior sound quality for harmonic solo instruments.
The effects section in Native Instruments Kontakt 6 has been expanded with several key additions focused on studio-style audio processing.The new Solid G-EQ and Solid Bus Comp algorithms—borrowed from the Solid Mix Series—enable equalization and compression, while the previously separate Transient Designer has been fully integrated into Kontakt's effects section in its original form.Furthermore, a new analog Tape Saturator can add natural compression and subtle, organic overdrive, and vintage sampling modes—derived from Native Instruments' Maschine groove production system—have been integrated into the Kontakt 6 feature set.
For sound designers and professional sample creators, Native Instruments Kontakt 6 offers a new instrument bus system as well as KSP-based MIDI file support.16 internal stereo buses—each with its own dedicated insert slots—provide enhanced routing flexibility, while the MIDI file capabilities within the Kontakt Script Processor allow for the creation of advanced instrument types featuring versatile, integrated MIDI playback functionality.
