About
Maschine is a beat-making workstation featuring a built-in drum sequencer, as well as sampling and loop-slicing capabilities; it represents the latest iteration of Native Instruments' initiative to create hybrid hardware-software instruments.
The software component runs either as a standalone application or as an AU/VST/RTAS plugin, while the hardware component serves as a dedicated controller for the Maschine software—though it can also be utilized as a standard MIDI controller.
With Maschine, Native Instruments sought to build upon the tactile, hands-on production style characteristic of hardware instruments like the Akai MPC, while simultaneously incorporating the advantages of a computer-based music workstation—and in this endeavor, they succeeded.Although the hardware unit itself lacks internal sound generation capabilities, its tight integration with the software plugin creates a workflow experience remarkably similar to working with a standalone hardware instrument.
MASCHINE is a revolutionary groove production system designed for tactile, creative beat-making, featuring a critically acclaimed sound library.Create quickly and effortlessly with MASCHINE—a beat-making software suite that seamlessly combines the power and flexibility of software with the tactile immediacy of hardware. Its pattern-based sequencer, high-performance sampler, incredible array of professional studio instruments and effects, exemplary drum synthesizers, and renowned sound library provide you with a complete system for rapid, professional groove production.
