About
MODO is a powerful 3D modeling, drawing and rendering program in a single workspace, with intuitive tools for constructing complex geometric shapes using the subdivided surface method. Over the course of several years, the product gradually transformed into a full-fledged universal package. The program interface offers deep customization of almost all work elements.
Main features:
• Precise geometry design and world-class UV editing.
• Powerful and flexible 2D and 3D drawing system, fast rendering to detail.
• Polygonal and subdivision surface modeling.
• Two types of model building tools: grid-based and graphic-based.
• Powerful animation and model building functions.
• Pre-installed navigation styles that bring the principles of interaction with tools as close as possible to the methods practiced in 3DS Max, Maya and other similar solutions.
• For ease of use, all key technological transitions (drawing, animation, rendering, etc.) are placed in separate modules.
Features:
Simulation
MODO has the fastest, most advanced polygonal 3D modeler. MODO's flexible tools are ideal for precision modeling of mechanical structures and architectural designs, as well as free-form organic modeling of virtually any shape, offering superior quality. Sculpting - tools for sculpting and traditional modeling are combined into one application and always at your fingertips. This combination provides unique and powerful 3D modeling and a unique workflow for ZBrush users.
Animation
Animation in MODO has become as natural as modeling and animation tools working together. The tools used in modeling are also effectively used in the animation system. When working in MODO, time becomes another dimension. Use MODO to create precise mechanical or fully articulated characters with skinned animations.
Rendering
MODO is equipped with one of the world's greatest renderers for creating stunning images and animations - and baking everything from HDRI files to textures for game engines. The renderer is presented as an out-of-the-box rendering engine and an advanced, optimized refinement system that updates almost instantly during modeling, painting, or any changes to element properties.
Effects
The MODO simulation engine is equipped with rigid and soft body dynamics solvers, as well as built-in rules based on a procedural animation system. Preparing and fine-tuning dynamics and particle simulations is easily done in the preset viewer to speed up setup and layout tasks, while the core structure relies on nodes to create more complex setups.
Replicators
Replicators allow you to create a copy of any geometric object or group of objects on the surface of another object, controlling their number, scale and orientation.
Brushes and Paints
A wide range of tools is provided, including Airbrush, Paintbrush, Eraser, Clone, Line, Fill, Smudge, Blur and Lasso. Each tool has a set of properties. Several types of brushes: Stamp, Roller, Text, Procedural, or add your own brush and select it in the Brush Browser.
Realistic surface
The modo renderer is capable of rendering a trillion polygons with amazing detail. Micropoly Tessellation provides rendering effects such as skin, slightly rough surfaces, or even the ground with greatly increased verisimilitude. Replicants will create additional depth and detail, allowing you to add a virtually limitless amount of geometry to your scene, such as rocks, trees, shells, or thorns.
Import and export animationMODO supports reading and writing COLLADA files, a new standard for exchanging models and animations. MODO can also read MDD files to display animations created in other 3D applications.
Format support:
• Import: Luxology scene (LXO), SolidWorks model (sldprt, sldasm), Lightwave (LWO2, LWOB), Autodesk (DXF, FBX, 3ds), Videoscape (GEO), Adobe Illustrator (EPS, AI), Adobe Photoshop (PSD), Wavefront (OBJ), Collada (DAE), modo (mdd).
