Preset Converter Pro is a software tool designed to convert Lightroom presets into Capture One styles.Presets serve as an excellent starting point for image editing.Many creative photographers make their Lightroom presets available to other photographers—either for purchase or for free.These presets are often the culmination of years of experience.Compared to the vast array of Lightroom presets available, there are significantly fewer styles available for Capture One (where multi-tool presets are referred to as "styles").
With Preset Converter, you no longer need to sift through large collections of presets manually, as the application can easily convert them into individual Capture One styles—or even entire style packs—with just a few clicks.
Since Lightroom and Capture One differ fundamentally in their RAW conversion processes, there are several technical hurdles you should be aware of.Many Lightroom functions cannot be converted on a strict 1:1 basis into Capture One, as the latter software sometimes lacks a direct equivalent for a specific feature.In such instances, parameter values are mapped to a different function based on optical criteria.Based on the developers' experience, this approach typically yields comparable results.Of course, the outcomes will never be 100% identical due to the differing image processing algorithms employed by each program.However—given that every image has its own unique exposure characteristics, and since a preset typically serves merely as a starting point for editing—these minor discrepancies are rarely of significant consequence.
While it may be slightly frustrating to find that image results differ following conversion, such discrepancies can usually be corrected quite quickly via manual adjustments within Capture One—a process that is undoubtedly far simpler and faster than attempting to manually recreate the entire preset from scratch.The most significant potential source of error is effectively eliminated once all white balance settings have been successfully extracted from the preset.Advantages:
