MarsEdit is a blog editor for macOS that makes editing your blog feel just like writing an email—complete with spell check, drafts, multiple windows, and even AppleScript support.
It works with most blogging services, including WordPress, Blogger, Drupal, Movable Type, TypePad, and many others.
The first thing people usually look for when choosing a blogging application is the number of services it supports—and in this regard, MarsEdit excels.The client is compatible with WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, Squarespace, TypePad, Movable Type, LiveJournal, Drupal, Vox, and a host of other, less popular blogging platforms.
While the program's interface isn't particularly flashy, it is quite user-friendly; everything you need is immediately at your fingertips.The application window is divided into two sections: the left side displays a list of your blogs, while the right side shows the posts added to them.Adding a new blog takes very little time; all MarsEdit requires is a link to the blog and a title. The program automatically detects the blog platform type—a definite plus, especially for novice bloggers.
If a user does not yet have a blog, MarsEdit offers the option to create one on either the Blogger or WordPress platform.
To some extent, the editor's capabilities rival those of TextMate.And if that still isn't enough for you, MarsEdit integrates seamlessly with external editors (including the aforementioned TextMate).
You can add images to your blog not only from your computer but also from your Flickr galleries, provided you have an account there.
